PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the disturbance of gradation without lowering the brightness of a screen by making matrix panels emit lights based on a subfield arrangement signal making the interval between the point of the display pulse impression starting time of the first subfield being in a preceding field and the point of the display pulse impression starting time of the last subfield being in a succeeding field to be equal to or shorter than a critical fusion cycle. SOLUTION: Subfields are arranged by being crammed to the direction of one side of one field without assigning the whole of the field to subfields in this device. By constituting the device in such a constitution, the interval Tm between the point of the light emission starting time of the first subfield bo being in a field and the point of the light emission starting time of the last subfield b7 being in a next filed is made to be shorter than the critical fusion cycle (about 20 msec) of a visual characteristic. More-over, when the order of the subfields is reversed to be the order of b7 to b0 in the field, the time interval between the point of the light emission starting time of the b7 to the point of the light emission starting time of the b0 of the next field is made to be shorter than the critical fusion cycle. |
