When the circularly polarized light C is reflected on the reflection surface of the reflection electrode 21 and then passed through the liquid crystal layer 30 again, it becomes the linearly polarized light A provided with a polarization direction almost orthogonal to the initial linearly polarized light P. The linearly polarized light A can not be transmitted through the polarizing plate 40.
