PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide various information for a looking person and easily attract the interest of the looking person, by brightly easily displaying and looking both the information of numerals or the like and a background and arranging a change in the background in a display used for an electronic timepiece. SOLUTION: A display has a polarizing plate 11, a liquid crystal panel 8 and each element of a polarizing speculation film 12. The polarizing separation film 12 has function transmitting (arrow Q) linear polarization of one direction, and reflecting (arrow P) the linear polarization except therefor. A pattern such as logo, a mark, a character is formed by printing on a light reflection layer 18a arranged on the rear of the polarizing separation film 12. Information such as numerals (arrow P) is not only displayed as single color of a non-pattern background, but also, after the pattern 20 of the character or the like is syntheszed as the background, the information such as the numerals can be displayed simultaneously with the background. |
