The purpose of the present invention is to provide a high speed switch apparatus which is capable of electrically performing braking so as to gain a braking force by using an eddy current component of a mover has and an external voltage stored in a capacitor. The high speed switch apparatus comprises: a mover which moves to an open state in which a switch is opened or to a close state in which the switch is closed; an open coil portion which is a coil for driving the mover to be moved to the open state by an eddy current component; a close coil portion which is a coil for driving the mover to move to the close state by the eddy current component; and a control portion which brakes the mover by applying a current, which flows in a direction opposite to a direction of a current flowing through the open coil portion, to the close coil portion during an open operation in which the mover moves to the open state, and brakes the mover by applying a current, which flows in a direction opposite to a direction of a current flowing through the close coil portion, to the open coil portion during a close operation in which the mover moves to the close state. According to the present invention, the high speed switch apparatus electrically reduces the speed of the mover, thereby reducing impulse on a contact point upon completion of the operation due to a fast moving speed of the contact point. |
