<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sealability of a grommet which is attached to the elliptical locking hole of a car body by improving the shape of the grommet. SOLUTION: A grommet is composed of a small-diameter cylindrical section 11, which is tightly put on a wire harness and a large-diameter cylindrical section 12 which is continuously formed from one end of the section 11, has a car body locking groove 13 on its outer peripheral surface and is attached to an elliptic locking hole drilled through a car body. The large-diameter cylindrical section 12 is expanded into a completely round cylindrical section 12a from the small-diameter cylindrical section 11 and has an elliptical car body locking groove 13, which is formed annular from the outer peripheral surface at the front end of the section 12a. The longer-side sidewall sealing surface of the groove 13 is protruded more than the shorter-side sidewall sealing surface of the groove 13, and the large-diameter cylindrical section 12 from the groove 13 to the opened end is constituted in an elliptical cylindrical section 12c, which resembles the groove 13 and the protruded amount of the longer-side sidewall sealing surface of the groove 13 is made equal to that of the shorter-side sidewall sealing surface of the groove 13.</p> |
