PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the speed of hibernation processing in a computer system. SOLUTION: In a write processing (3) of first compressed data, for example, data transfer for one sector from a CPU to an HDD and local write operation for one sector by the HDD are executed repeatedly for 256 sectors. During the period of this write processing (3), a data compressing processing (4) of a next memory block is performed while utilizing a period in which the local write operation is performed by the HDD. Namely, when data for one sector are completely transferred, a system BIOS performs the transfer of the next data for one sector after waiting for the end of local write operation for one sector by the HDD, but during the period waiting for the end of that local write operation, the compressing processing of the next data is performed.
