<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for generating a representative picture by which contents of multimedia data can easily be grasped and displaying a summary through the use of the generated representative picture. SOLUTION: This display is provided with a data input means 101 for receiving data, a data extraction means 102 for taking out a part of data and defining it as a data unit, a representative picture definition means 103 for defining a representative picture for each data unit, a relation definition means 104 for defining a relation among the data units and a summary supply means 105 for indicating the relation of the data unit and the representative picture in accordance with the relation defined among the data units. Thus, understanding of the relation among data is facilitated.</p> |
