PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor element capable of suppressing deterioration in detection accuracy of a specified gas, and a gas sensor having such a gas sensor element.SOLUTION: In a gas sensor element 7, a second ceramic layer 87 that constitutes an oxygen concentration detection cell 77 is formed in a composite ceramic layer for the detection cell, and a third ceramic layer 91 that constitutes a second pumping cell 79 is formed in a composite ceramic layer for the second pumping cell. The second ceramic layer 87 has a second insulating ceramic part 117 in which an insertion hole 119 is formed. The third ceramic layer 91 has a third insulating ceramic part 123 in which an insertion hole 125 is formed. A second solid electrolyte 121 is located within the insertion hole 119. A third solid electrolyte 127 is located within the insertion hole 125. An introduction passage 101 into which a gas to be measured is introduced is provided in such a manner that the introduction passage 101 penetrates the second solid electrolyte 121 of the second ceramic layer 87. Accordingly, the detection accuracy of a specified gas in the gas to be measured is high.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
