PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably stop a rotating shaft at a predetermined rotation position suitable for restart of an engine, when stopping the engine.SOLUTION: A rotation speed sensor 45 detects a rotation position and a rotation speed of a rotating shaft 3. An ECU 50, for stopping the rotating shaft 3 at a predetermined rotation position, controls each injector 32 such that a fuel cut in an intake stroke of each cylinder 2 is sequentially started from a specific cylinder 2. The ECU 50 requests the fuel cut when stopping the rotating shaft 3 at the predetermined rotation position. When the detected rotation position at the time of the request is within a predetermined range to allow the fuel cut in the next intake stroke of the specific cylinder 2, the ECU controls the injector 32 to start the fuel cut in the next intake stroke of the specific cylinder 2, and when the detected rotation position is out of the predetermined range to allow the fuel cut in the next intake stroke of the specific cylinder 2, the ECU controls the injector 32 to retard the fuel cut to an intake stroke after the next intake stroke of the specific cylinder 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
