PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain improvement in the efficiency of a network by providing a proxy server for performing edition of information or access management. SOLUTION: When a user request is sent from a user terminal 5 through a LAN or dial-up 4 to a proxy server 3, the proxy server 3 watches its contents, and when it is a request for which access is inhibited by a network manager or user, a result of connection-disable is returned to the user terminal 5. When the access is not inhibited for the request, the user request is sent through an internet 2 to a hyper text transfer protocol(HTTP) server 1 as it is and information in a hyper text mark-up language(HTML) is received from the HTTP server 1. The proxy server 3 adds information to the received information in HTML or performs an edition such as deletion of description containing a list to which access is inhibited, or of unwanted information corresponding to the instruction of the network manager or user, and returns the edited information in HTML through the LAN or dial-up 4 to the user terminal 5. |
