发明名称 IMPROVED IN-MOLD DECORATING PROCESS
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably simplify the manufacturing of a complicated part by a method wherein a printing base material is installed in a mold having a surface conforming to the three-dimensional shape of the printing base material, and a molten resin such as a polycarbonate or the like is injected through a plurality of gates provided at the back of the printing base material in a mold cavity. SOLUTION: Starting from a smooth transparent base material graphics are printed on the rear surface of the base material. In response to the structure, the printing base material is properly formed, (when a flat part is dealt, in general, no forming is necessary). A mold having a surface conforming to the shape of the formed base material or to the dimensions of the base material not yet formed is prepared. The base material is trimmed so as to fit the base material in an injection mold. A decorated, formed and trimmed base material is arranged between both mold halves. After the mold halves are closed, a resin is injected through one or more gates against the decorating part of the rear surface of the base material. Thus, an integrally injected molding having a permanently joined printed applique is generated under the state that the graphics are pinched between the base material and an injected material.
