PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a urea grease compsn. improved in mechanical stability and water resistance by compounding a specified amt. of a thickening agent comprising a tetraurea compd. and a diurea compd. in a specified ratio into a specific base oil. SOLUTION: This compsn. is prepd. by compounding 100 pts.wt. base oil comprising a mineral oil or a synthetic oil with 2-20 pts.wt. thickening agent comprising 10-80 mol.% tetraurea compd. of formula I and 20-90 mol.% diurea compd. of formula II. The tetraurea compd. is obtd. by reacting a diisocyanate (e.g. diphenylmethane-4,4'-diisocyanate), a diamine (e.g. ethylenediamine), and a monoamine (e.g. octylamine); and the diurea compd. is obtd. by reacting diphenylmethane-4,4'-diisocyanate and octylamine. In the formulas, R<1> is a 6-20C divalent arom. hydrocarbon group; R<2> is a 2-12C divalent satd. aliph. hydrocarbon group or a 6-15C arom. hydrocarbon group; and R<3> and R<4> are each a group selected from among 8-17C groups and 18-37C groups. |
