PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound useful as an asymmetric catalyst capable of resisting to industrialization and capable of giving various kinds of optically active alcohol compounds in maximum asymmetric yield and in high chemical yields by simple operations. SOLUTION: A compound of formula I or II [Z<1> and Z<2> are each carbon or a 6-10C aryl; R<1a> , R<1b> , R<2a> and R<2a> are each hydrogen, a halogen or the like; (n1 ), (n2 ), (n3 ) and (n4 ) are each 1-5, wherein (n1 )+(n2 ) does not exceed the number of the substitution positions of Z<2> ; R<3> and R<4> are each hydrogen, a 1-8C alkyl or the like; (m) is 0-3; M is a metal compound of the formula; M1 Ap (M1 is a metalloid, an alkali metal or the like; A is hydrogen, cyano or the like; (p) is 1-4] or a metal halide of the formula; R<5> M2 X (R<5> is a 1-8C alkyl, a 6-10C aryl or the like; M2 is magnesium or zinc; X is a halogen], for example, (R)1,1'-bi-2-naphthoxy-diphenylaminoborn. The compound is obtained by reacting a dialcohol derivative of formula III with an aminoboron derivative of formula IV. |
