The invention relates to a binder for air drying paint, based on metal oxide-containing nanoparticles with unsaturated organic branches, where at least one metal atom of the nanoparticle is chemically bound to an organic branch with at least one unsaturated ethylenic functionality. Further the invention comprises a process for preparation of the binder.
