PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone device that is capable of identifying a called party side device during a call, when there are more than two called party side devices lines of which are closed. SOLUTION: When there is a new incoming call during a call, the contents of the second transmitter number memory contents (or 'the second transmitter') is flickered on a lower step of an LCD and displayed. After the display, when a switching button is pressed by a caller (S9: Yes), a called party (a called party side device) is switched, and at the same time, a flashing display on the lower step of the LCD is switched to a lighting display (S10), and a 'connection mark' is displayed (S11) beside a telephone number of the called party device during the call. Thus, by looking at the display contents of the LCD, a caller can discriminate the calling called party side device and the standby called party device and prevent a telephone line which is closed from an important called party (the called party side device) from being released erroneously.
