The present invention provides an improved notebook, journal, planner, or the like that provides a writing instrument storage space without the need of conventional pen holders. A void space between the bound paper and the spine of a fully opened book has been utilized as the storage space in this invention. The spine is made of elastic material that stretches to store various sizes and shapes of writing instruments and to maintain the void space even after the book is closed. In the case a pen is inserted in the void space, the elastic force of the spine prevents the book from completely closing. Hence, the invention is securely locked or closed by a strap. |
