The present invention relates to a coated chewing gum comprising a core of chewing gum and a coating, wherein said coating comprises a coating material and one or more active substance(s), said active substance(s) being in the form of a powder when applied to the coating. The present invention additionally includes a method of preparing the coated chewing gum. More particularly, the present invention relates to the active substance(s) such as pharmaceuticals, herbal medicines, vitamins and nutrients. The invention furthermore relates to use of the active substance(s) in the coating of a coated chewing gum, e.g. to provide a fast onset of the effect, a better stability of the active substance, and an increased effect thereof in all chewing phases. <IMAGE> |
