PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which is equipped with a belt type photoreceptor having short peripheral length and in which residual liquid on the photoreceptor is perfectly removed after developing. SOLUTION: This developing device 16 is equipped with the belt photoreceptor 3 traveling while holding the formed electrostatic latent image on its lower surface, a developing roller 4 wet-developing the electrostatic latent image while coming in contact with the lower surface of the photoreceptor, and a squeeze roller 7 provided at a poststage from the roller 4 in the case of viewing from the traveling direction of the photoreceptor 3 and removing the residual of developer while coming in press-contact with the lower surface of the photoreceptor. The device 16 is equipped with a deceleration means decreasing the traveling speed of the photoreceptor and a driving means for reversely rotating the roller 7, which act when the roller 4 descends and separates from the photoreceptor 3 and the roller 7 comes in press-contact with the lower surface of the photoreceptor so that the photoreceptor may be dried after developing. |
