PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a failure of selection and to shorten the movement distance of a pointer of a mouse to improve the work efficiency by setting a graphic arrangement direction based on a layout reference line on indicated graphics. SOLUTION: First, an arrangement object to be arranged on graphics is indicated by an arrangement object indicating means 2. Next, a graphic shape selecting means 3 selects the shape of graphics corresponding to the arrangement direction of the indicated arrangement object to be arranged, which is stored in a graphic shape table 6, based on the direction of the layout reference line set by a reference line recognition means 1 and arranges it in the position on graphics which is separately indicated by a graphic arrangement means 4. In this case, the reference line recognition means 1 recognizes a line as the reference of arrangement indicated to set the arrangement direction. The graphic shape indicating means 5 indicates a graphic shape so that graphic according to the form of the graphic may be selected even if the arrangement reference line showing the same direction is indicated by the reference line recognition means 1.
