Each thrust reversal door (3) is pushed outwards by one or more rods (9) as its pivot (12), mounted on a slider (11), travels along a guide connected to its power cylinder piston. The thrust reversal system consists of a series of deployable doors (3) which form a part of the primary engine housing (4) when closed, and open to deflect the flow from the by-pass channel (22) outwards and forwards. Each door is operated by a power cylinder (6) connected to a slider (11) on which the door is pivoted. As the power cylinder draws the slider along a lengthwise guide (10) a rod (9) pushes the door outwards in the path of the by-pass flow. |
