<p>A valve apparatus (10) comprises a housing (12) with a passageway (22) formed therethrough, an intersecting access port (20), and a seal assembly (14). The seal assembly (14) will automatically close the passageway (22) when a medical device is attached to the access port (20), but permit flow through the passageway (22) when no device is attached. The seal assembly (14) is biased normally open with respect to the passageway (22). The seal assembly includes a central hole (46) to permit flow into the passageway (22) from the medical device.</p> |
