PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can reduce unnecessary consumption of developer.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a measurement part that measures a stop time during which rotation of a photoreceptor drum is stopped or a physical amount that varies according to an increase in stop time; a setting part that sets polarity of an initial voltage to be applied to a developing member on the basis of the stop time or physical amount measured by the measurement part; and a power source part that applies the initial voltage with a polarity set by the setting part to the developing member at the start of rotation of the photoreceptor drum.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
