<p>A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a carbon fiber coil by heating in a reaction chamber (12) a raw gas which produces solid carbon when it is thermally decomposed, and a catalyst gas for promoting the thermal decomposition of the raw gas, wherein a solid catalyst (15) is disposed in a predetermined position in the reaction chamber (12) with the raw gas and catalyst gas supplied to the reaction chamber (12), the interior of the reaction chamber (12) being heated so as to grow a carbon fiber coil from the raw gas, an electromagnetic field based on this heating operation not being substantially formed in the reaction chamber during the same heating operation.</p> |
