Toothbrush head having splayed free ends or bristles anchors part of the bristles in the head at an acute angle to the normal plane to the head center plane in walled receiver channels using two or three-legged head. Part (8b,9b) of the bristles within the head (2) form an acute angle to the plane (G) running normal to the head center plane (K) which in turn runs at right angles to the brush head length (2). The bristle supporting surface (24) deviates linearly or nonlinearly from the horizontal and the head comes in round or elliptical section. The bristles or bristle bunches of each part stand normal to the supporting surface (14) itself angled along the center plane (K). The legs of the brush head form an angle less than 180 deg with their non-bristled side, or in the case of a triangular brush head an angle in excess of 180 deg . Several bristles per part sit in a receiver channel (17) running at an acute angle to the supporting surface (14) and so to the center of the bristle head. The bristle or bristle bunch parts (8b,9b) in the head run parallel to the receiver channel (17) walls (11,12).
