The invention relates to a tenside system for use in powdery to granular or liquid washing and cleaning detergents containing builders and non-ionic and anionic tensides. The invention is characterized in that the tenside system contains a combination comprised of A) C12-C18-alkyl sulfates, whereby the portion of the carbon chains with fewer than 14 carbon atoms is smaller than 10 wt. % with regard to the content of C12-C18-alkyl sulfates, B) C8-C18-alkylbenzene sulfonates, and C) a cationic tenside used as a detergency amplifier, wherein the components A and B are available in a ratio of 1:10 to 10:1.
