The light has a foot (10), a column (12) and a light head (14) pointing down from the column and a reading table (16) that can be attached to the column with a table panel (16a). The reading table has at least two table legs (16b) attached to the panel and a rubber ring (18) applied around the column which is placed around the legs and presses against the column to attach the table legs to the column. The column is thicker at the bottom than at the top.
