VOICE ACTIVATED RELATIONAL DATABASE SYSTEM PROVIDING USER ASSISTANCE

A voice activated system for retrieving information from relational files in a database (element 24) incorporating a "help" mechanism that leads the user to relevant information. The apparatus and the method thereof provide the user with a message (element 4) that the spoken queries (element 8) are understood or not. If understood the system outputs the desired information (element 4). If not understood the system asks for key words from the user (element 4). The user may input phrases, voice new queries to the recognition system (element 8). The system responds with the desired information.
