A roller skate comprising an elongated frame, a plurality of wheels rotatably mounted to said frame, a footwear element mounted to said frame to accommodate a skater's foot, said footwear element having a sole, wherein said frame and said sole are provided with corresponding fastening holes adapted to receive a fastener to secure said footwear element to said frame. The wheels are provided with wheel axis and the fastening holes are substantially perpendicular in relation to the wheel axis.
