PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evenly scarf the inside and outside of a coil to a prescribed thickness when soaking a steel wire coil in acid followed by removing surface defects.SOLUTION: A surface skin scarfing method of a steel wire coil includes: loading a wire coil on a V-type belt conveyor 22 which is circulated in the inside and outside of a treatment tank 21 so as to roll the coil in one direction by the travel of the conveyor 22; setting a liquid level standard so as to put the coil into a half-soaking state and repeating soaking and pulling of each of coil parts so as to suppress a reaction difference in the inside and outside of the coil; and suppressing a scarfing speed to 0.5-4 μm/min with sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid as acid to be used so as to evenly scarf the whole coil. As a multistage cascade method of two or more stages, treatment efficiency is reinforced and a waste acid concentration is induced to a low level so as to reduce a basic unit of acid. Not only cost reduction in the step but also a heat treatment step before and after peeling can be omitted by substituting for a conventional peeling method.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
