It is based on the principle that the gases are more or less likely to dissolve in a liquid, also depending upon the nature of the liquid and on the pressure to which the gas and the liquid are subjected. The saturation pressure will be the limit pressure below which gas/liquid dissolution cannot coexist. The invention attempts to prevent the loss of carbon dioxide which is dissolved in the liquid and which diminishes every time the container is opened and closed, thus allowing the consumption of soft drinks under optimum conditions. It consists in maintaining a pressure in the container which is sufficiently high for the carbon dioxide to remain dissolved in the liquid. The pressurised air is introduced inside the container or bottle by means of a suitable pumping system. In a preferred embodiment, the device comprises a cap 1 which is preferably screwed onto the container, to whose upper part it is possible to connect a bellows 6, hermetically sealing the seat region. The bellows 6 has a non-return valve 8 and the external air admitted has to pass inside the bottle via a non-return valve 3 incorporated in the cap. <IMAGE>
