<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity of a memory by overwriting compressed data on data of a camera data area. SOLUTION: First photographed camera data are written in a camera data area in an SDRAM 58 and then read by 8-line each afterward. The 8-line camera data are given to a signal processing circuit 24, where the data are YUV- converted and the obtained 8-line YUV data are stored in a work area of the SDRAM. A JPEG CODEC reads one block each of the YUV data in the work area and applies compression to the data. The compressed data are overwritten on the camera data in the camera data area by one block each. In this case, the compressed data are not overwritten onto the camera data whose compression processing is not finished. The processing above is repeated for each 8-line, and when all the camera data in the camera data area are compressed camera data only, the compressed data in the camera data area are stored in a flash memory at once.</p> |
