PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably instruct an appropriate prediction candidate even when inputting a whole sentence without segmentation and to reduce an input operation at the time of sentence generation. SOLUTION: A partial character string generation part 104 successively generates a partial character string following each inputted character string by referring to a character string table 108 in which a plurality of character strings are registered or to an input history table. A retrieval part 105 generates a character string retrieval expression for retrieving the character string table 108 or the input history table in accordance with the partial character string generated in the retrieval part 105. An output part 103 displays a retrieval result following the retrieval expression. At the time of displaying the retrieval result, the character string used for retrieval and the character string not used are discriminated and displayed at the time of displaying the retrieval result. |
