PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the sealing strength of a sealing member composed of a sealing alloy having a compsn. of 15 to 30 wt.% Cr-0.1 to 0.9 wt.% Ti-0.7 to 3.0 wt.% Ni-bal.Fe and to be sealed to soft glass with high reproducibility. SOLUTION: This sealing member is the one composed of a sealing alloy 1 contg. 15 to 30 wt.% Cr, 0.1 to 0.9 wt.% Ti and 0.7 to 3.0 wt.% Ni, and the balance substantial Fe, and the surface 1a of the sealing alloy 1 has ruggedness in the range of 10 to 25μm by ten-point average roughness (R2 ). The sealing member is used in a state in which the surface 1a of the sealing alloy 1 having ruggedness is provided with an oxidized film.
