PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make accurate positioning possible by automatically performing positioning correction of a medium to be carried. SOLUTION: The printer is equipped with both a printing part for performing prescribed printing on a carried form and an image sensor 22 which is constituted by providing image pickup elements in a line shape and optically reads the image of the carried form. A plurality of lines for positioning correction corresponding to the regulation value of carring amount are printed at every prescribed interval in the form carring direction on the form for positioning correction to perform carring position correction of the form. Observed value of line positions for each positioning correction is measured by reading the line for its positioning correction by the image sensor 22. Position, in which the line for each positioning correction is printed, is compared with the observed value of line position for each positioning correction. Such the line for positioning correction is retrieved that both sides coincide or are the nearest. Regulation value corresponding to the line for the applicable positioning correction is set up as the positioning correction value of carring amount. |
