The method of measuring radial pressure of a sealing ring lip consists of measuring the pressure of the air that causes the radial deformation of the lip. Unique characteristics: The measurement is carried out in two steps by means of the model (1) in the form of a resilient ring, closed with front membranes. At the first stage of the measurement, air is pumped into the model (1) by a known method to increase the model pressure, while the external diameter of the model (1) is controlled by means of sensors (2). Once the required diameter with Dnom value is obtained, the pressure inside the model (1) is measured by a known method. The second stage of the measurement consists of lowering the pressure inside the model (1), sliding the examined sealing ring (3) over the model and increasing the pressure inside the model (1), while the external diameter of the model (1) is controlled by means of sensors (2). Once the required diameter with Dnom value is obtained, the pressure inside the model (1) is measured again. Then, the pressure values obtained in both stages are compared. The obtained pressure difference defines the radial pressure of the sealing ring lip (3). |
