PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing stick which can be assembled relatively simply and is sturdy being free of risk of breakage or failure even in the event of application of a large overload. SOLUTION: A computer keyboard 100 is molded in a single piece inside the surface of a plastic housing 110 and has a pointing stick 130 protruding therefrom. A key 150 of the keyboard penetrates a hole 120 in the same plastic housing. Strainsensitive resistances 232-238 are formed inside a small region 240 on a circuit board. The same circuit board bearing a strain sensitive resistance also bears an electroconductive pad 250 for key switch. The strain sensitive resistance part is joined with the housing adjoining to the pointing stick, wherein the joining is made to that surface of housing on the opposite side to a projection on the pointing stick.
