PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly detect the default of circuit parts, etc., and to rapidly stop charging operation. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a light emission part 10 for emitting flash light, a capacitor 12 by which the light emission part 10 performs flashing action by discharging stored charge, a DC/DC converter 14 for charging the capacitor 12, a charge voltage detection part 16 for detecting voltage at both ends of the capacitor 12, and a control part 24 for controlling the entire action. The charge voltage of the capacitor 12 detected in a specified cycle is compared with a reference value in the specified cycle. When it does not satisfy the reference value, the action of the DC/DC converter 14 is stopped by judging that the charging action is inappropriate. |
