Domestic coffee maker with ready indicatotaator - incorporating bimetal strip to trigger signal when contents have been brewed

A cold water container is connected to an electric through-flow heater (1) controlled by a diaphragm pressure switch (3) which responds to the hydrostatic pressure of the fresh water column. An electrically heated bimetal strip (5) which is designed to trigger a signal is mounted parallel to the heating element for the through-flow heater whilst the diaphragm pressure switch (3) is provided with a reversal contact (4). When the cold water container is full of cold water, in the switch position (11) the through-flow heater (1) is switched on whilst in the circuit position (1) when the water container is empty, the heating for the bimetal strip (5) is switched on. Thus when all the cold water has been brewed up the bimetal strip is heated to bend and release the signal which shows that the drink is prepared and is being kept warm on the hot plate. Since the signal indicates there is no water in the cold water container it also prevents the machine from accidentally being operated dry.
