<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shortcut route establishing system and a data flow detector which flexibly provide a shortcut route in accordance with the message inputted upon detecting a data flow. SOLUTION: When a message is transferred between first and second LANs 11 and 12 through an ATM network 10, data flow detectors 19 and 20 are respectively connected between the LANs 11 and 12 and edge devices 13 and 14. The edge devices 13 and 14 select default routes 171 -173 or a shortcut route 18 based on the number of messages inputted per unit time. The data flow detectors 19 and 20 discriminate whether or not short-cutting is necessary for an inputted message based on the information registered on flow detection tables stored correspondingly to their transfer data flows. When it is decided that the short-cutting is necessary, the message is outputted to the edge devices 13 and 14 by dividing or shortening the message.</p> |
