<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveyance controlling method in a conveying system, by which an automated storage and retrieval system can be prevented from being occupied by articles in a handling process even when the handling process applied to the articles conveyed into the automated storage and retrieval system is stopped or the number of handleable articles is reduced. SOLUTION: In a conveying system, a host computer 100 always grips the number of handleable workpieces and the number of stocked workpieces for respective processes performed by respective handling devices 201-208. If the number of handleable workpieces is zero, the workpieces in the corresponding process are prevented from being conveyed. If the number of handleable workpieces is not smaller than the number of stocked workpieces when both numbers are compared with each other in each process, the workpieces in the corresponding process are conveyed immediately. If the number of handleable workpieces is smaller than the number of stocked workpieces, a conveyance waiting time based on the excessive number of workpieces is computed, and after the lapse of the conveyance waiting time, the workpieces in the corresponding process are conveyed.</p> |
