PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the capacity retaining rate and high rate discharge characteristics of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. SOLUTION: A positive electrode uses a lithium-containing transition metal composite oxide, having an average particle size of 0.5-50 μm and carbon power whose average particle size is 1-50% of the average particle size of the lithium- containing transition metal composite oxide. Carbon powder has a specific surface area of 50 m<2> /g, a spacing in the direction of C-axis of 0.35 nm or less, and the weight of the carbon power is set 2-10 wt.%, based on the weight of the positive mix. |
