<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the whole body further thinner while ensuring the strength of a hollow golf head by a method wherein, on the internal surface of a border between a face shell part and an upper surface shell part of a shell body which is manufactured by a forging or a press working and is divided into a plurality, a plurality of reinforcing ribs having a bent part, for the strength reinforcement, are provided. SOLUTION: An upper part of a face shell part 1, is bent to the upper surface shell part side at a border between a face part and an upper surface part, and an extension part 1-1 is provided, and the wood head is constituted in such a manner that a bonding is performed at a border between the bent extension part 1-1 and the upper surface shell part. That is, when a metal thin plate of titanium or the like is forged, and a triply split shell body is manufactured by a plastic working, the upper part of the face shell part 1 is bent to the upper surface shell part side, and the extension part 1-1 of the face shell part in the direction to the upper surface shell part is provided, and the bent area and a welding part are separated, and a stress concentration is dispersed. In addition, from the internal surface of the extension part 1-1 of the face shell part to the upper part of the internal surface of the face part, a plurality of reinforcing ribs 6 having a bent part for the strength reinforcement are provided.</p> |
