Pyridylmethyl nitriles, amides and thioamides useful as fungicides

Compounds of of the formula wherein R is a C6-C10 aryl group, optionally substituted with one or more halogen atoms, phenoxy, or, linear or branched, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 alkoxy, C1-C6 haloalkoxy, or C1-C6 haloalkyl; R1 is C3-C6 cycloalkyl or, linear or branched, C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, C2-C6 alkynyl, C3-C6 haloalkenyl, C2-C8 alkoxyalkyl or C1-C6 haloalkyl; n is 1, 2 or 3; and R2 is CN, C(O)NH2 or C(S)NH2, or the physiologically acceptable salts thereof with organic and inorganic acids. These compounds are useful as fungicides.
