PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a noise component that occurs when signal light undergoing synchronous polarization scrambling is transmitted and to prevent a receiving characteristics from being degraded. SOLUTION: A polarization scrambler(PS) 12 performs synchronous polarization scrambling of signal light that is outputted from the signal light generator (E/O) 11 of an optical transmitter 1 according to a modulation signal in a repeating frequency f0 that almost matches a transmission speed and transmits it to an optical receiver 31 through a transmission system 2. The receiver 31 photoelectrically converts the received signal light and amplifies it and after that, it sends it to a band-rejection filter 35. The filter 35 cuts off only the frequency f0 caused the by the synchronous polarization scrambling and noise components in the neighborhood, and sends other signal components to an equalization filter(EQ) 33 and an identification circuit (DEC) 34. |
