PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for character lighting license plate which can prevent the shadow of opaque resin at a character part from passing through a transparent part without damaging the transparency of the transparent part at the time of crimping a character. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method for character lighting license plate which is constituted by punching a character part 3 at a license plate body, fitting, in the character part, a synthetic resin character which involves the opaque character part having a prescribe character shape and color, and a transparent part of the same color as the surface of the transparent or semitransparent license plate body surface formed around it, and crimping it at the back of the license plate body by means of thermo-crimping. The character part involves a character part body 411 of prescribed shape, and a character thermo- crimped leg part 412 hanging from it, the transparent part involves a transparent thermo-crimping leg part 422 hanging from a transparent part body 421, and a fitting hole 423 for fitting it in. The character thermo-crimped leg part is longer than the transparent thermo-crimped leg part, and the character thermo- crimped part and the transparent thermo-crimped part form a reservoir part 43 with a prescribed space put between them.
