PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition having a refractive index required as a material for an optical guided wave path by adjusting the refractive index of a mixture of copolymers having a different copolymerization ratio of a polyhalodioxol unit to a polyhaloolefin unit by altering the mixing ratio thereof. SOLUTION: A polymer composition comprises a copolymer represented by formula III consisting of polymers represented by formula I having a different copolymerization ratio of one of the repeating units to the other, and the like, and a copolymer represented by formula IV comprising polymers represented by formula II and the like. The refractive index of the polymer composition is adjustable by altering the mixing ratio of the copolymer of formula III to the copolymer of formula IV. In the formulas, n, k, m and l represent molar ratio and respectively satisfy 0<n<1, 0<k<1, 0<m<1 and 0<l<1; n+k=1; m+l=1; and A and B each represent a polyallylene sulfide, a polyhaloallylene sulfide, a polysulfone, a modified polysulfone, a polycarbonate, a polyhalocarbonate, a polyolefin, a polyhaloolefin, polydioxol, polyhalodioxol, a polyimide, a modified polyimide, or the like. |
