A screwdriver assembly to drive a threaded fastener carrying a washer thereon spaced axially from a head of the fastener towards a tip of the fastener. The screwdriver assembly comprises a guideway to receive a fastener coaxially therein, a washer abutment surface disposed about the guideway to engage a washer carried on a fastener received in the guideway to assist in axially locating the fastener coaxially within the guideway and an elongate rotatable driver shaft having at a forward end a bit member. The driver shaft is reciprocally movable axially in the guideway to engage the fastener with the bit member and drive the fastener axially forwardly from the guideway into a workpiece.
