PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition quickly and uniformly spreadable over the surface of a paddy field when dropped to the water-surface and exhibiting excellent herbicidal effect by using a sparingly water-soluble herbicidal component, a surfactant and water as essential components and compounding with a paraffinic hydrocarbon as a spreader. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is composed of (A) 2-40% of a sparingly water-soluble herbicidal component [e.g. 4-(2,4-dichlorobenzoyl)-1,3-dimethyl-5- phenancyloxypyrazole], (B) 3-10% of a surfactant (e.g. polyoxyethylene phenyl alkylaryl ether), (C) 10-40% of a paraffinic hydrocarbon and (D) 30-85% of water. The component C is a straight or branched hydrocarbon having a specific gravity of <=1 and a boiling point of 50-200 deg.C and exhibiting liquid state at ordinary temperature (e.g. n-hexane). Since the component C is a spreader, the herbicidal component can be quickly and uniformly spread on the surface of a paddy field by dropping the above composition to the field and the scattering labor can be reduced. |
