<p>PURPOSE:To improve the nonlinearity in the large current region of a voltage dependent nonlinear resistor, which has zinc oxides for its main ingredients, and lessens the difference in the rates of changes between the positive direction and the negative direction of the varistor voltage at the time of having applied impulse currents. CONSTITUTION:A voltage dependent nonlinear resistor is manufactured by adding 0.001-0.1 mol% NiO and 0.0001-0.001 mol% MnO to the material, which contains several kinds of oxides such as cobalt, praseodymium, potassium, chromium, etc., besides zinc oxides, and sintering it. Or, by using cobalt oxides, which contain proper quantities of Ni and Mn, for a material, the property improves further since Ni and Mn exist in minute conditions in the cobalt oxides even if NiO and MnO are added besides.</p> |
