Stacking mechanism for trays of eggs

Trays of eggs are stacked in sections (16) on a pallet (14). The same mechanism positions a floppy divider sheet (17) between each section (16). Arms (43) are positioned so that four stacks each of six trays delivered from the moving band (35) are pushed by the ram (32) onto the platform (40). This is repeated twice so that twelve tray stacks are loaded to form one pallet-sized stack (16). A moving bulkhead (100) pushes the pallet stack into position and restrains it while the platform is withdrawn. Suction cups beneath the platform (40) pick up flexible divider sheets (17) from the stack (33) and place them between each stack (16) on the pallet (14).
